BRAIN ACTIVITY

Abstract Art on Handmade Paper Exploring Identity and Authenticity

The Brain Activity series delves into the complex tension between societal expectations and the authentic self. In today’s world, conformity is often rewarded, tempting us to abandon our true identities to fit in. This internal conflict—the silent battle between who we are and who society wants us to be—is the core inspiration behind these artworks.

Created using a unique embossed technique, individual elements are crafted on delicate handmade cotton paper and then assembled into layered collages. These pieces combine subtle textures of weathered acrylic paint in neutral tones with intricate embossed lines, evoking the fractured, multifaceted nature of identity and the quiet inner struggle between conformity and authenticity.

Some artworks present rich, textured collages, while others focus on minimal embossed forms on plain neutral backgrounds for contemplative reflection.

Each piece is housed in a solid wood open box frame, finished with natural oils in light or dark brown tones, enhancing the organic warmth and tactile quality of the collection.

Brain Activity invites viewers to experience powerful themes of individuality, self-expression, and the cost of societal conformity through contemporary abstract art. It encourages personal reflection and embracing authenticity in a world that often rewards sameness.
